La Rochelle Tours, in association with
Cape Hiking, can now offer you a unique
combination of a walking and wine tasting tour in the beautiful Franschhoek Wine
Valley.
In the morning, clients hike from the top of the Franschhoek Pass into the
mountains. Depending on the time and of course the ability, fitness and
experience of our clients, we will either follow the Cats Pad path (dating to
1818) down to the Jan Joubertsgat Bridge OR hike up towards the
Uitkyk (1100m)
with it’s fantastic views over the Wemmershoek Mountains.
After completing your hike you have enough time for a shower and lunch before
you will be collected from your Franschhoek guest house or hotel for an
afternoon wine tour of the Franschhoek region.
During your half day tour of Franschhoek you will learn more about the history
of the Franschhoek Wine Region and you will taste some of the varieties on offer
in this valley. Throughout your wine tour you will experience some of the
breathtaking beauty that the Cape Winelands offers you. All our tours are
conducted by Cape Wine Academy trained tour guides, so you will
learn more about
wine and the wine making process while having fun at the same time. La Rochelle
Tours will let you experience some of the hidden gems on offer in the
Franschhoek Wine Valley.
Our tour groups are always small – no more than 10 guests per vehicle. On our
half day wine tours of the Franschhoek area you can expect to visit between 2 to
3 wine estates and taste between 5 to 8 wines per estate.
La Rochelle Tours don’t have any pre set itineraries, thus making each and every
wine tour an unique and fun filled experience.
